SKUAST-K scientists enlighten farmers about ‘profitable’ poultry

Srinagar:Under Mera Gavun Mera Gaurav (MGMG) initiative, Center for Research on Poultry (CRP) in collaboration with KVK-Ganderbal, held a 2 day theme based training cum Scientist-Farmer interaction programme, “Profitable Backyard Poultry Farming for Socioeconomic upliftment of Rural Farmers” that concluded here at CRP training hall on Saturday.

Farmers from Chaterhama, Shalimar, Buserbugh, Warpoh and adjoining villages participated in the interaction programme, stated an official handout issued here. Dr. A.A. Khan, Sr. Scientist Poultry, SKUAST-K, Dr. I.U Sheikh, Sr. Scientist Poultry and Dr P. A. Reshi, Scientist (Animal Science), KVK-Ganderbal interacted with the farmers and threw light on different dimensions of Scientific Poultry Farming. “Stay in constant touch with university scientists for profitable poultry farming,” Dr Khan advised farmers in his address while enlightening them about scientific poultry farming. Earlier, Dr Reshi outlined the importance of backyard poultry farming for “upliftment of socially and economically backward farmers”.
