Sustainable Waste Management in Poultry: A Game-Changing Innovation by Suprenviro Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Yadlapati Ramesh: My name is Yadlapati Ramesh. Ours is a startup company, Suprenviro Pvt. Ltd., based out of Hyderabad. We are working in the area of sustainable waste management in the poultry sector. It's not just about waste management; it's also about pollution control in a sustainable way.
Let me explain how it works. We all know about earthworms. Earthworms help in decomposing cow dung into vermicompost. But if the same earthworms come in contact with poultry litter, they die.

Black Soldier Fly - larvae
Our process involves supplying the larva of the Black Soldier Fly – a natural insect. We supply these baby larvae to poultry farms.
The major problems faced by poultry farms are flies, foul smell, and ammonia that emerge from poultry waste and litter. These attract flies and disturb both the surroundings and the workers in the farm.
To control these, poultry farmers often spray chemicals. However, these chemicals have adverse effects on ecology – they kill beneficial microorganisms – yet, the houseflies don’t get eradicated.
Our solution is simple: Stop using all these chemicals. Instead, we supply BSF baby larva.
They need to be spread in the poultry litter once every month. No more flies, foul smell, or ammonia. Additionally, it also neutralizes pathogens like E. coli, Salmonella, etc., effectively solving all these problems.
Another benefit: Daily litter management is no longer required. One needs to spare just 30 minutes for 30 days.
The residual compost thus produced can be used for agriculture. It has good NPK values, suitable for improving agricultural outcomes.
We are here at this seminar conducted by IPJA. Every year, we are part of the Poultry India Expo.
For the last three years, we have been having our stalls at the expo. Even this year, we have our stall at Hall No. 3 at the expo. Please visit us to know more about what we do.
Anchor: You have mentioned case studies – that some farms which were closed, you have been able to reopen them with your solutions?
Mr. Yadlapati Ramesh: Yes, in Tamil Nadu, near Erode, some farms were almost at the shutdown stage due to poor waste management systems. These farms were ordered to shut down by the Collector.
We presented our solutions and convinced them. We also convinced the government officials, and they gave us time.
Now, for the last three years, those farms are running happily. There are no problems with flies or foul smell anymore.
In some farms where there were only 2–3 sheds, after solving the issue, they have opened many more new sheds and are now growing their poultry business.
IPEMA and Poultry India thank Mr. Yadlapati Ramesh for this insightful session and congratulate Suprenviro Pvt. Ltd. on driving sustainable transformation in poultry farming.
