Tribute to a Poultry India Legend
Fondly remembered as a Poultry India Legend, Shri Chitturi Jagapati Rao was honored as ‘Poultry India Legend’ by IPEMA–Poultry India in 2015, during the 9th edition of the Poultry India Expo, in recognition of his transformative contribution to the growth and modernization of India’s poultry sector.
As the Chairman of Srinivasa Farms, he played a defining role in shaping organized poultry farming in India. From his early agricultural roots to building integrated poultry operations, hatcheries, breeding programmes, and technology-driven systems, he consistently emphasized quality, efficiency, and farmer empowerment.
Beyond enterprise building, Shri Chitturi Jagapati Rao was a true institution builder—mentoring professionals, encouraging innovation, and nurturing a strong sense of community within the poultry fraternity. His belief that poultry is a living business requiring dedication, discipline, and ethical conduct became guiding principles for the industry.
In recognition of his global impact, he was conferred the prestigious ‘International Egg Person of the Year – 2023’, acknowledging his lifelong service to the global egg and poultry value chain.
IPEMA–Poultry India remembers him not only for what he built, but for how he built it—with integrity, foresight, and inclusiveness. His legacy lives on through Srinivasa Farms, the institutions he strengthened, and the countless farmers and professionals he inspired.
Shri Chitturi Jagapati Rao will forever remain a guiding light for Poultry India.
