Indian poultry sector set for rapid growthIndia stands second in the world for egg production with production eggs per annum (next to China) and third in the world for broilers (after the USA and China) and is the only country shown consistent growth in poultry.
Poultry Industry is consuming food grains and its residual material of 30 mt, out of which about 10 mt of maize and remaining 20 mt are the residue material of food grains, which humans are not using anymore. This helps agricultural farmers a lot in getting a better price for their products.
Availability and procurement of feed material have become a challenging task in the poultry Industry. To overcome this challenge, it is necessary to assess the demand and plan for the production of the grains accordingly so that grain producers will get stable price and there will not be an acute shortage in the market. In the case of acute shortage, government authorities should act quickly for imports or alternative sources to help the poultry farming community.
