Overview

Crunchy on the outside, tender inside, and quick to make — this crispy chicken popcorn is a perfect homemade snack. Boneless chicken is marinated in spiced buttermilk, double-coated for extra crunch, and deep-fried until golden. Serve it hot with ketchup or spicy mayo.

What You'll Need

  • Boneless chicken — cut into 1-inch cubes
  • Buttermilk — ½ cup
  • All-purpose flour — ½ cup
  • Cornflour — 2 tbsp
  • Spices — 1 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp pepper, salt to taste
  • Oil — for deep frying

How to Make It

  1. Marinate the chicken in buttermilk, salt, and ½ tsp chilli powder for 15 minutes.
  2. Mix the flour, cornflour, and remaining spices in a bowl.
  3. Coat each chicken piece in the flour mix. Double coat for extra crunch.
  4. Deep fry on medium heat for 3–4 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  5. Serve hot with ketchup or spicy mayo.
