Researchers at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine will examine how this foodborne pathogen — a top-four global cause of diarrhoeal disease — "uses molecular 'weapons' to outcompete other bacteria" and adapt to host environments. The £850,000 BBSRC-funded study, led by Dr. Ozan Gundogdu, focuses on the Type VI Secretion System (T6SS) across the poultry and human gut.
