India is positioned to become a leading Asian nation adopting the immune complex (IC) vaccine, according to Dr. Marcelo Paniago, Director of Global Veterinary Services at Ceva Sante Animal, France. He made these remarks during an event on immune-complex diseases organised by ICAR-CCARI in Old Goa on Thursday.
A Revolution in Indian Poultry
Dr. Paniago stated that India is experiencing significant advancement in nutrition, animal health, and vaccine development. He predicted the IC vaccine would become available in India within one to two years, with rapid adoption expected among producers due to its practical benefits.
"In India, there is a revolution in terms of nutrition, animal health and vaccines. The immune complex vaccine, in one or two years, will be available here in India. I have no doubt that the producers will rapidly adopt it because it makes their lives much easier."

What is IBD?
The vaccine targets infectious bursal disease (IBD), also called gumboro disease, which affects domestic chickens globally. IBD remains a major threat to the poultry industry. Symptomatic infected birds display depression, ruffled feathers, and a drooping appearance.
